Stolen Archive file 68: Recently discovered letter from Grace Cahill to a famous architect
(letter with C Cahill letterhead on desk with scattered X-acto knife, straight-edge, hammer, blue-prints, and wood shavings.)
Dear Mr. Khan:
Thank you so much for taking the time to speak with me today. I'm delighted that you might be able to design a clubhouse near my summer home for my grandchildren. They just love having secrets from the grown-ups, so they want the clubhouse to be as hidden as possible. They say it should look just like a giant boulder! Isn't that funny? They're calling it "the Rock."
Because my summer home is somewhat remote we'll need an advanced security system to guard against intruders: blanket camera monitoring, heavy-duty locks, reinforced steel doors, you know the thing. The children enjoy playing "Bank," so I'd love to have a fireproof vault in the basement for fun. But of course they'll also need to communicate with the outside world -- for instance, their loving grandmother! -- which requires a secure phone line. And naturally the structure should be able to withstand any inclement events, including cyclones and tsunamis.
This may sound like a lot to ask for, Mr. Khan, but I do hope you'll be willing to take up the challenge -- I'm sure I can make it worth your while!
Sincerely,
Grace Cahill (signature)
