|
[edit] Summary
French explorer and diamond hunter Jean-Baptiste Tavernier took several trips to India in the 1600s and came into contact with some of the world's most incredible diamonds: the Koh-i-Noor (Mountain of Light), the Florentine, and the Tavernier Blue, which became the Hope Diamond. Tavernier was a Tomas and had the Tomas wanderlust. The Tomas branch paid for his journeys, but why? What was Tavernier really looking for?
