Madame Cahill,

Below is the information you requested -- the most expensive failed Clue hunts in Cahill history. Please let me know if you would like any further research into the matter.

1. Ekat Lunar Mission -- Convinced that NASA (controlled by the Tomas at the time) hid a Clue on the moon in 1969, the Ekats (who controlled the Soviet space program) sent a robot to search for it. Exact costs are still classified, but it is estimated that they spent more than $100 billion in today's dollars on these moon missions. It's unclear whether a Tomas hid a Clue there, or whether the Ekats found it.

2. The Lucian Chunnel -- For almost a century, the Lucians dreamed of a tunnel under the English Channel. In 1994, they finally finished building the 31.1-mile tunnel at a cost of more than $20 billion of today's dollars. It's unclear why building the Chunnel was so important, but it is suspicious that French immigration officials are stationed on the English end of the tunnel and English officials are on the French side.

3. Tomas Dam, aka Hoover Dam -- One of the largest hydroelectric dams in the world, the Tomas Dam was also part of a Clue hunt fiasco by Herbert Hoover. It's rumored that Hoover, then Secretary of Commerce, had the stupid idea that a Clue was at the bottom of the Colorado River. Cost: More than $400 million in today's dollars.

4. Janus artist Damien Hirst spent an estimated $15 million to create a life-size human skull covered with over 8,000 diamonds. One large diamond on the skull's forehead is rumored to have cost over $4 million alone. It is unclear whether this extravagance was Clue-related or just another example of Janus lunacy.
