Top Five Ways to Blow That Dough

Do you have the unfortunate problem of money burning a hole in your pocket? Do you have more dough than you know what to do with? Are you looking for some creative ways to get rid of your surplus cash? Well then, read on!

We recently polled our editors about the Top Five Ways to Blow That Dough and this is what they came up with:

1. Fly to space -- While this isn't the most expensive thing on our list, it may be the most unique. For around $300,000 you can book a roundtrip flight into space. The trip may only take an hour, but the memories will last a lifetime!

2. Put your pedal to the metal -- For about $1.7 million you can own the fastest street-legal production car on the road. With speeds up to 253 mpg, the Bugatti Veyron ought to satisfy your need for speed.

3. Be a jetsetter -- Private jets are all the rage these days. It used to be said that you were no one unless you had a jet. Nowadays, it's "You're no one unless your children have their own jet, too!" London art dealers Vikram and Isabel Kabra are the perfect example -- they just bought a Lear jet for their 14-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter!

4. Buy some art -- Collecting rare art has always been a pastime of the rich and famous, but today's billionaires are taking it to a whole new level. The newest trend in billionaire circles is to help fund large-scale art displays, such as the man-made waterfalls in New York City's East River.

5. Indulge your hobby -- What's the point of having bags of cash if you don't spend them on things you enjoy? If you're into golf, build a course in your backyard. If you're into chemistry, build a secret lab in your basement. That's what eccentric billionaire Grace Cahill did -- and then REBUILT it twice after mysterious explosions!
